This panel of parents of LGBT kids will talk about the higher risks their children face, how it impacts their success at school, and how you can comfortably step in to support their kids. They will also discuss the health consequences of bullying behavior and its potential long term impact.

Community Collaboration
Brad Engel (w/Partners)/Queen Anne's County School System
Facilitated by School Climate Specialist-Sheppard Pratt Health Systems
In Queen Anne’s County, bullying prevention has become a community effort. With the help of the Local Management Board, the Sheriff’s Office, Chik-fil-a, and Rita’s, the Queen Anne’s County school system has gathered the support of some key players in order to step up its anti-bullying efforts. This dynamic interactive multimedia presentation will highlight the steps that local school systems can take to create viable partnerships that will help all children feel emotionally and physically safe from bullying, harassment, and intimidation. Brad Engel has worked in the Queen Anne’s County School system for over 24 years and he has successfully addressed the issue of bullying as a teacher, administrator and now currently in his role at Student Services Supervisor. One of his first steps in this role was to oversee the full implementation of the Olweus program in every school in the county by the spring of 2014.
